I’ve spent my whole life around businesses like yours. I started my first web businesses in high school, almost twenty years ago, and I’ve been building ever since — companies, products, and the technology underneath them. For fourteen of those years, I worked alongside Noknok — the studio Nikki built — on software, brand, and websites, for owners across Australia and New Zealand.

In nearly every one, I saw the same thing — capable people stuck in the day-to-day, with no room left for the reason they started.

Then AI reached the point where that could change. Nikki had been building it into design for years; I’d gone deep on what it could do. We were looking at the same shift from two directions. So we started again, and called it Anathallo — to flourish again.

What still hooks me is taking the thing someone has been turning over for years and building it. I’ve spent nineteen years building businesses and products.

I studied science — psychology — and I still work that way: form a hypothesis, test it, follow the evidence, not the hype. What people want isn’t someone to nod along — it’s someone in the room to think the problem through with them.

Most ambitious people aren’t short of ideas. They’re buried under the low-value work that eats the energy those ideas need. Used well, AI clears that work away. That’s only the start. I want to help people reach the work underneath — and build it with them.

I’m a designer and creative director, but really a problem-solver — I love finding the way through a hard problem that isn’t the obvious one. How something looks and what it’s for have never been separate questions to me.

For years I’ve built AI into that work: brand-trained design systems, custom GPTs that hold a client’s voice, agents that act as in-house experts on a brand. Not to do the thinking for us — to draw the messy, half-formed ideas out and make them clear.

I care about AI that supports good design rather than flattening it. Most people have barely started.
